On a chilly night in the Sunshine State and better than a celebrity century review, Iowa’s football team basked in the glow of its most significant postseason victory since the 1950s.

A 24-14 win over Georgia Tech in Tuesday’s Orange Bowl punctuated one of the most dramatic seasons in Hawkeye history, and drew rave reviews from Gov. Chet Culver.

“These kids just showed great depth and resiliency,” said Culver, who was among an estimated 25,000 Iowans who flocked to Land Shark Stadium. “It’s really great to be a part of it.”

Culver shook the hand of quarterback Ricky Stanzi as he entered the Iowa locker room, but it was Adrian Clayborn who received most outstanding player honors.
